Chiropractic as a profession claims to treat the cause of pain and/or disease by correcting vertebral subluxations. A subluxation by definition is a vertebrae or bone that has lost it's normal position or motion. The body is a beautifully and divinely designed system of cells, tissues and organs that when in perfect harmony can perform like a musical symphony. When one tissue (or instrument) is out of balance (or out of tune) this will affect the performance (or sound) of the entire body.
I use a technique know as CPK (Chiropractic Plus Kinesiology) that was developed by Dr. Milton Dowty. It is a system that incorporates Applied Kinesiology, Clinical Kinesiology, Sacral Occipital Technique, Bio-resonant Therapy and Acupuncture. Utilizing CPK (the most versatile and innovative technique that I know of) I can determine the priority tissue that is contributing to a persons complaint or health concern, the location on the body that needs the correction, and how to make the correction. This process enables me to make a longer lasting correction to the body, restoring balance and motion to the area in question. A traditional manual chiropractic or osteopathic adjustment addresses a bone that is "out of place or not moving properly". Since muscles move bones and ligaments restrict motion, if you don't address the soft tissue component, the misalignment will return.
